Ok you were doing great with this tutorial til step 5.

as with all tutorials on this subject you speak from knowledge but forget too easily to some of us this is gobledeegook.

    Questions
    1) where do I find Wp-config-sample.php
    2) What and where do I find the passwords etc mentioned in this step and where exactly in this notepad file do I place them (perhaps that is obvious if I can find Q1 but I couldnt so I guess its back to google search.

I dont mean too be rude but if your gonna attempt this type of beginner tutorial presume you are talking to complete newbies and they/I may stick around on your site longer than step5

      @ Duncan Penfold,
Thanks for your valuable comment. Now let me answer your questions one by one
      1) where do I find Wp-config-sample.php?
After downloading Latest version of WordPress you need to unzip it on your local computer.and at that unzipped folder you will find the Wp-config-sample.php where wp-admin, wp-content, folders are situated.

      2) What and where do I find the passwords etc mentioned in this step and where exactly in this notepad file do I place them ?
Hey I have already mentioned in this post that:

Now sign in to your ByetHost control panel and see “Account Information”. There you will get ftp host name and user name. The FTP password is same as your ByetHost control panel Password.

Now After renaming wp-config.php file open it in notepad (not in MS word) and there you will see fields like (‘DB_NAME’ , ‘DB_USER’, ‘DB_PASSWORD’, and ‘DB_HOST’) Put your desired Data Base name, Database user name, Database Password, and Database host name consecutively at their place.

I think you have got all your answer, if there are still any confusion then let me know.
      Thanks for visiting.
      Cheers,Sadek

  5. Custom Wordpress Theme says:

Ok that’s very good. I knows only The WordPress Theme system is a way to “skin” your weblog. Yet, it is more than just a “skin.” Skinning your site implies that only the design is changed. WordPress Themes can provide much more control over the look and presentation of the material on your website.I am very new to WordPress and have just started to use it for my design projects. At the moment I am just using it for news feeds but I will be using it more and more in the coming months. This is why I am spending time looking at tutorials like this one so it can give me an insight and guide to how I can create certain things in WordPress. I thought this tutorial had great detail and great comments to go along with it. This is a tutorial I will be spending time going through and will be a great help in me understanding what WordPress can do for me.
